Cecilia Dapaah
On 14 July 2023, the Office commenced full investigations into the affairs of former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah especially in relation to the source(s) of large cash sums of money reportedly stolen from her residence.
On 5 July 2023, State prosecutors commenced criminal proceedings in the Circuit Court, Accra against four (4) persons on an amended charge sheet on various counts of stealing in Case No. D4/155/2023 titled The Republic v. Patience Botwe & Three Ors. The charges filed in court in respect of said proceedings recounted that between July and October 2022 the suspects allegedly stole valuable items from the residence of Ms. Dapaah, then the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources. The charges also recounted that the suspects stole large cash amounts of One Million United States dollars (US$1,000,000.00); Three Hundred Thousand euros (€300,000.00); and Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand cedis (GH¢ 350,000) belonging to Ms. Dapaah.
Upon citing the court records and reinforced by criminal intelligence available to the OSP, investigations were opened. The investigations extend to the husband of Ms. Dapaah, Daniel Osei Kuffuor and her associates in Ghana and abroad.
