Section 2(c) of the 2017 Office of the Special Prosecutor Act (Act 959) mandates the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to actively prevent corruption. Recognising the need for support from various stakeholders to fulfill this mission, the OSP is currently conducting outreach initiatives to connect with diverse segments of Ghanaian society.

One such engagement involves the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), the largest ecumenical gathering in the country. Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng addressing the heads of the churches and Organisations Conference at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh, explained the purpose and specific mandate of the OSP.

He appealed to the church leaders to utilise their platforms, pulpits and influence to denounce and deliver sermons against corrupt behaviour and lifestyles. He sought their collaboration in developing and implementing anti-corruption programs for Christian youth.

Following his presentation, the Heads of Churches participated in a question-and-answer session with the Special Prosecutor. Apostle Eric Nyamekye, President of the GPCC, pledged to lead the GPCC in engaging the OSP to solidify a partnership aimed at contributing to the reduction of corruption in Ghana.
