Diversion of Palm Oil

The Office is investigating suspected corruption involving the diversion of fifty (50) twenty-foot containers of palm oil valued at GHS 25.8 million.

The consignment, declared as being in transit to Burkina Faso, was unlawfully diverted onto the local market without payment of the applicable duties and taxes.

The Office has identified certain Customs officers, National Security operatives, and clearing agents in an alleged corrupt scheme that resulted in an estimated tax loss of GHS 10 million.

The case originated from an intelligence-led operation conducted in November 2025.
