Mahama Ayariga I

The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga and six (6) others were charged for procurement infractions in the importation of an ambulance for the Bawku Municipality in the Upper East Region of the country.

The other accused persons included both current and former officials of the Bawku Municipal Assembly; Hajia Hawa Ninchema, Sumaila Ewuntomah Abudu, Alex Vadze, Alhaji Abdul-Mumuni Jesewunde, Mary-Stella Adapesa, Mumuni Yakubu Nambe. They were charged with breaches of Sections 43(1) and 92(1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (As Amended) Act 663 and abetment of the offence contrary to Section 20(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
